The browser detects downloads of zip-, exe- and paf-files. Only download programs that are portable without modifications. The browser cannot detect if the application you download is portable or not. Therefore you have to read the installation instructions for the application.
zip: A dialog lets you extract all files to the "Apps" directory. It will then scan for executable files and add them automatically.
exe: You will have to decide, if you downloaded an installer or the application itself. Execute installers and install the application into the "Apps" directory. Copy applications into the "Apps" directory.
paf: Install the application into the "Apps" directory.
